Evaluation of the
potential for large earthquakes in regions of
present day low seismic activity in Europe
Final objectives of the project:
- to identify paleoearthquakes along
selected active faults in the studied
regions
- to estimate the magnitude and recurrence
time of these events
- to establish a formulation of the results
directly usable for seismic hazard
analysis
