Collecting of data through which the visitor can not be identified

During your visit on the website, the Website collects certain information. This only concerns information through which a user can not be directly identified, information such as the used browser, the way of surfing on the Website, the duration of the visit on the Website and the IP address.

The processed data will be saved on the files of the Royal Observatory of Belgium (hereinafter called “ROB”). The data will only be processed to the extent that the processing is necessary for the purposes mentioned above.

The personal data will not be sold or transmitted to third parties nor be published.

The ROB reserves the right to use the data or to publish them if this is necessary to safeguard the integrity of the Website, if this is required by law, if the processing of the data is vital for the visitor, if the processing is necessary to perform a task in the public interest or if the processing is necessary in order to safeguard a legitimate interest.

The rights of the visitors with regard to the collected data

In accordance with the law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy, the user has the right to check and correct his/her data. The law on the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) gives you the right to remove your personal data, to limite its usage and the transferability to the extend that the applicable regulations provide for this.

The collected data will not be used for marketing.
